Why Choose Diggermate for Trenching Services?

Choosing Diggermate means your trenching is handled by experienced operators who understand the importance of accuracy and safety. We don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach — we match the right machines and attachments to the type of trench being dug.

Our trenching services commonly include:

We handle the machinery, excavation, and spoil removal so you don’t have to organise multiple hires or manage the technical details yourself.

Below is an overview of the equipment we commonly use for trenching projects, and how each machine contributes to getting the job done efficiently and accurately.

Mini Excavator

Mini excavators are ideal for trenching on residential sites where space is limited. They allow precise control over trench depth and width while minimising disturbance to surrounding areas.

How it helps:

  • Digs clean, accurate trenches

  • Maintains consistent depth and alignment

  • Works easily in narrow access spaces

2.5T Excavator

For longer trenches or harder ground, the 2.5-tonne excavator offers more reach and digging power, speeding up the trenching process while maintaining accuracy.

How it helps:

  • Handles longer trench runs efficiently

  • Cuts through tougher ground conditions

  • Reduces overall job time

Trenching Bucket / Trenchers

Trenching buckets and attachments are designed specifically to cut narrow, uniform trenches. They ensure clean edges and consistent widths to suit pipes, cables, and services.

How it helps:

  • Creates neat, uniform trench profiles

  • Matches trench width to service requirements

  • Reduces backfilling and rework

Mini Loader / Skid Steer

Mini loaders and skid steers are used to move excavated soil away from the trench or assist with backfilling once services are installed.

How it helps:

  • Moves spoil efficiently along the trench line

  • Assists with backfilling and site tidy-up

  • Keeps the work area organised

Tipper Truck

Tipper trucks allow excavated material to be removed from site quickly, keeping trenches clear and the job moving.

How it helps:

  • Removes excess spoil and waste

  • Reduces site congestion

  • Saves time and multiple trips

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

A trenching service is the excavation of a narrow channel in the ground so you (or your licensed trades) can install things like pipes, conduit, drainage, or cabling. We dig to the line, depth, and access conditions you specify.

  • Stormwater and drainage runs

  • Sewer and plumbing trench lines (for your plumber to install)

  • Electrical and data conduit runs (for your electrician to install)

  • Irrigation and garden services (sprinklers, pipework, lighting)
Tell us what you’re installing and we’ll plan the trenching approach.
